Betsy DeVos was born in 1958. She attended her secondary education at Holland Christian School and later joined the Calvin College where she graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Arts. After her university education, Betsy got into business and had been continually involved in activism especially on issues that affect the vulnerable. She has equally supported several political actions and the ideologies in which she believes. Betsy’s political life began at the campus. She always wanted things to be done the right way. How Betsy DeVos has contributed to philanthropic work

In 1989, Betsy and Dick her husband started a family foundation. With the Foundation, Betsy and her husband had five major factors which they wanted to support. These factors are leadership, education, justice, community development and the work of art. Financial support

In 2005, the generous lady contributed up to $12 million. This contribution increased her total philanthropic work to about $150 million. Her contribution landed her to position 24 in the Forbes Magazine among the top Americans supporting philanthropic work.

In her donations, Betsy has provided financial help to different families, several community projects, hospitals and as well as educational purposes. Most of her finances have been used to support the work of evangelism.

In supporting education, Betsy has given close to $15 million for different academic related projects. Her contribution has led to an improvement in the quality of education. One of the major beneficiaries of her philanthropic work is her former high school. Being and alumni, she has ensured that she supports the projects that are to be started and the ones that would improve the status of the school. Political interests

Betsy has since been a member the Republican Party. There are several issues which she has pushed through the party especially the ones supporting education and health.
